Without a vehicle, traversing the sprawling and deadly landscape of Arrakis in Dune Awakening can be quite challenging. The large map causes a reliable means of traversing safely, especially with environmental hazards such as heat stroke and sandworms. Walking simply won’t cut it for long journeys. Luckily, players will ultimately be given the chance to craft a Sandbike – an essential vehicle needed to survive and explore.
Reaching the Sandbike in the Questline
You can’t acquire the Sandbike from the beginning. You’ll unlock it later while progressing through the South Hagga Basin which is the opening area in the game. Players will get to construct the Sandbike during the quest dubbed Across the Gap. It is a mission that forms part of the A New Beginning story arc. You can earn this milestone by visiting the wreck of the crash site of the Alcyon.
To start building the vehicle, you will have to first do research about the Sandbike Mk1 Assembly as it unlocks the assembly and parts.
The first thing you need to build in the assembly is a Welding Torch Mk1. This tool is essential for putting the Sandbike together. You will also need a supply of Welding Wire along with the torch to start the build.

Gather Required Materials
The Sandbike will not be a single piece, but made up of parts. The main parts you’ll need to craft are.
- Chassis.
- Hull.
- Engine.
- Power Supply Unit (PSU).
- Three Treads.
Gathering materials to create these elements will require the following total resources.
- 43 Copper Ingots.
- 6 Particle Capacitors.
- 13 Advanced Servoks.
Make sure all these materials and parts are in your inventory once they are collected and manufactured.
Assembly and Fueling
Once the parts are ready and the welding torch has been attached, make your way to the construction site. When you enable the game, an outline of the Sandbike will appear. This outline has indicators that show which pieces still need to be added, and they will be yellow until added.
After putting everything together, you next will fuel your Sandbike. To do this, put a Small Vehicle Fuel Cell, there’s plenty of it to loot around the game world. This will get your vehicle operational.
Optional Add-Ons and Customisation
Players have options to further customize the Sandbike by affixing a Backseat or an Inventory Pack to its back. Depending on whether you want to carry more items or have a second seat, it adds functional flexibility.
Protecting Your Sandbike
Once the Sandbike has been made and is working, it is important to protect it. Get a vehicle back-up tool as early as possible after you join the game. Through this gadget, you can pick up the Sandbike and carry it away when not being used. This protects the machine from environmental mishaps like sandstorms. Moreover, it does not allow the machine to undergo any unnecessary damage or run away with the wind.
Price Estimate
Building a Sandbike relies on in-game materials and not real money, though going by material value trends, a rough economy value in other words might be $15–20 USD worth of materials, if considered on microtransaction lines.
Sandbike is a terrific device, if you are going into the sands of the Arrakis. So, with good preparation, one can benefit from it.
