The updates in Dead by Daylight bring new Killers, Survivors, maps, etc. and season events that keep it running. The game follows a year-long cycle that runs from June to May. It allows players to get content every so often ever since the game’s launch in June 2016. Traditionally, every chapter comes with one Killer and one Survivor. However, the developers mix things up with character packs to half-chapters that come with solely a new Survivor or a new Killer. This strategy helps to not let the asymmetrical horror experience go stale for the community.
Year 10’s Content Blueprint
Starting in June 2025, Year 10 will be learning five different Chapters. The plan of the game strikes a balance between creativity and a penchant for satisfying the existing fanservice in two chapters with entirely new characters and three licensed collaborations.
Coming in June, the highlight is a highly anticipated crossover with Five Nights at Freddy’s. The new Killer and personalized map bring the horror franchise into the Entity.
The addition of two new Survivors is confirmed in the July update. However, they were not revealed officially. Community speculation continues to grow over these new rows. September brings original content that includes one Killer and one Survivor. November ends the year with another Killer and two licensed Survivors.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Arrives in the Fog
Chapter 36 introduces Five Nights at Freddy’s atmosphere deadly by daylight which adds a new horror. The latest map from the developer is called Security Room. This map recreates the franchise’s vending machine pizza restaurant. What’s more, it has dim lighting and a creepy atmosphere like original titles.
Springtrap is The Killer known in the lore as The Animatronic in the game. The Yellow Rabbit costume from the FNAF movie inspired the design in his piece. The character has a throw-able axe like The Huntress’s hatchet but comes with different mechanics and limitations.
This horrifying addition comes to life thanks to the voice of Matthew Lillard. Springtrap’s abilities deal with psychological warfare and strategically disrupting with three perks. Haywire is an endgame that will mute the sound of the exit door siren. When Survivors see the Killer for the first time, Phantom Fear causes Survivors to automatically scream. This can reveal the Survivors’ location to teammates and add extra DLL tension. The Generator repairs will be complicated due to Help Wanted, leading to pressure on Survivor teams and longer matches.
Mysterious Survivors and The Walking Dead Connection
Two unnamed Survivors are introduced in the July chapter that has got the community talking. Fans have noticed a detail in the Year 10 roadmap that links these characters to The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead franchise is teeming with Rick and Michonne rumors. Recently, the roadmap documentation concealed the message “The Ones Who Live” which may hint at their arrival.
If this works out the way its looking, it will much alignment with the pattern of Behaviour Interactive. Moreover, it will be another expansion of Dead by Daylight with recognizable characters and storylines. In fact, the message is quite clear.
Original Content Embraces Asian Horror
Besides licensed partnerships, Year 10 is dedicated to building the original story. September’s chapter will be inspired by Asian horror. The launch was described by product director Justin Brown as bringing one of the creepiest experiences ever. A true touch of folklore terror is coming, so expect something that is terrifying.
It shows Behaviour Interactive’s wish to strive for balance by developing original content, while not forgetting the collaborations that fans love.
Navigating Dead by Daylight’s Information Landscape
Keeping up with all the new content for Dead by Daylight means watching plenty of official live streams, reading the developer blog, and forum chat. Players will know what to expect with the Year 10 roadmap covering new releases throughout 2025.
