Jonathan ‘EliGE’ Jablonowski has been benched after FaZe Clan changed their roster in Counter-Strike 2 for the second time in eight months. Instead, Jakub ‘jcobbb’ Pietruszewski from Betclic Apogee has been brought in the roster.
A Season of Shifts for FaZe Clan
FaZe Clan’s adjustment is their third roster change this year. In early May, the crew took out their AWPer, Helvijs ‘broky’ Saukants, to bring in Oleksandr ‘S1mple’ Kostyliev. S1mple’s performance helped the team reach the top eight of IEM Dallas and BLAST.tv Austin Major. After s1mple joined BC.GAME, broky was brought back in July to help create momentum for the rest of the year. The team was eliminated in the group stage of BLAST Bounty Season 2 after being defeated by Virtus.pro in the online phase but reached the top eight at IEM Cologne. FaZe Clan stated on social media that both parties agreed EliGE was removed from the active lineup. EliGE said that this is an ending but also a beginning for him.

Recent Performance and New Additions
FaZe Clan had a disappointing showing at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, where they exited in the top 16 after suffering a 2-1 loss to Aurora Gaming. After 10 months with Betclic Apogee, where he played many Tier 2 events, Jcobbb joins the team. In July, the organization registered their highlight as they placed in the top eight at Fragadelphia 19.
FaZe Clan is preparing for the closed qualifiers at BLAST Open London which is slated to begin on August 27. jcobbb will make his Tier 1 Counter-Strike debut at the event. After that, the next event will take place at FISSURE Playground 2 in Serbia. This is where the race for Valve Regional Standings points begins.
Even though jcobbb hasn’t been at the top level for long, he already has some standout performances under his belt at PGL Bucharest, where he defeated The MongolZ and Astralis and placed in the top ten. FaZe Clan’s latest modifications aim to enhance the team’s competitive edge for greater performances in MAJOR CS2 tournaments. Consequently, in-game leader karrigan has left the team.
