Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl players will witness 4 endings all of which hint towards a possible future of the zone. The conclusions of the adventure are decided primarily by decisions made late in the game. This allows players to investigate other paths without restarting the campaign. Even if many narrative choices affect relationships and encounters, only a handful of moments ultimately determine how the story ends.

Missions That Decide the Final Outcome
Three main quests can influence the game’s ending.
- Subtle Matter.
- Dangerous Liaisons.
- The Last Wish.
The game will pause for a moment so that you have the chance to make a choice whenever you can. Once chosen, the option is final until manually saved to reverse it. Such events affect how Skif perceives allies and enemies, and may result in permanent positioning changes.
Summary of All Four Endings
The last story thread depends on the player’s alliance during the above-mentioned missions. The endings refer to orders, idealism, preservation or personal conviction, all of which show the philosophy of the Zone. Here is a summary of all four outcomes and a list of the decisions necessary to unlock them. Be advised, significant story spoilers are included.

The Ward Path – Order Restored
The officers realized this conclusion after working with the Wardens, Colonel Korshunov. Korshunov, a veteran entrenched in the Zone, stands for the use of force to impose authority. The SIRCAA group to which he belongs wants to regulate Zone with a heavy stick. According to him, chaos can be controlled only through an orderly fashion and use of force.
Choices That Lead Here:
- In Subtle Matter, select Life is for the living.
- In Dangerous Liaisons, pick: I’m not your enemy or I’m with you.
The zone under the control of Korshunov ends this path which means the beginning of solid order and control by war traffic.
The Spark Path – Utopia Through Belief
The conclusion foresees a peaceful Zone free of pain and suffering under the influence of Scar a mysterious person with a bold idea. “Shining Zone”: A perfect universe under Scar’s philosophies. Despite being dismissed as insane, his strong belief has helped many people.
Choices That Lead Here:
- In Subtle Matter, choose either Eternal spring or I need more time.
- In Dangerous Liaisons, opt to [Escape].
The Spark Ending follows the same trajectory as Scar, a dreamlike conclusion which entails hope and philosophical transformation.

The Strelok Path – Protection at All Costs
The ending of Strelok carries a rich emotional message that speaks vowels of his respect for the power of the Zone. There is a mysterious guardian of the Zone who appreciates its ambience as it is without exploiting it. The Main Mission Zero character is loyal not to a faction but the Zone.
Choices That Lead Here:
- In Subtle Matter, select Life is for the living.
- In Dangerous Liaisons, choose [Escape].
- In The Last Wish, select [Fire].
The story path ends at Strelok Ending, which is an intimate and solemn conclusion that fits the complexity and wildness of the Zone.
The Kaymanov Path – Natural Evolution
Dr. Kaymanov’s approach combines science and philosophy. An eyewitness to the initial creation of the Zone, he believes that not only the Zone, but the mutated life should evolve naturally as well. The end result implies no interference and encourages going with the flow.
Similar to Strelok’s path, however, one large decision does alter the course.

Choices That Lead Here:
- In Subtle Matter, choose Life is for the living.
- In Dangerous Liaisons, pick [Escape].
- In The Last Wish, select [Lower the gun].
The Kaymanov Ending means that the zone will not change. It means that it should evolve and develop on its own without any influence.
Final Thoughts on the Zone’s Fate
Players can encounter four complex endings in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, each generated by distinct philosophical and ethical questions. The results occur at pivotal moments that happen late in the game, allowing players to play around with differing alignments and values rather than starting fresh. What the future of the Zone shall be—authoritarian, idealist, devoted or ecological—will depend on what Skif chooses!
