Get ready to visit the Nintendo Museum in Japan this fall. It will display an art gallery showcasing fifty years of video game history from Nintendo. The gallery is expected to open on September 3 and will display pieces of art related to games. This includes drawings of characters and concept art.
A Glimpse into Nintendo’s Artistic Legacy
The next gallery will be found on the second floor of the Nintendo Museum Exhibition Building. Though we don’t know much about what works will be on display, the exhibition is set to show Nintendo’s evolution. Nintendo first entered the gaming field during the early 1970s when it developed lightgun games. The company had a major success during the 1980s with the arcade game Donkey Kong. The launch of the Nintendo Entertainment System in North America in 1985 established Nintendo as a major gaming company.
Current Exhibits and Features
Nintendo’s gaming history will be showcased at the Nintendo Museum, which already has other exhibits and playable minigames. One part of the museum features fully functional giant controllers from consoles like the Famicom, SNES, N64 and Wii Remotes. Blending retro charm with futuristic design, such experiences add value to the museum and can attract visitors.
