Helldivers 2 has implemented a huge weapon modification system allowing players to customise their guns beyond mere appearance. After many hours of playing, a lot of players that used to beg for this feature now enjoy the option of adding red dot scopes and nice camo to their weapons, enhancing both their function and looks.
Finding the Modification Centre
When players come back to the game after being absent, they see a message that shows the new weapon modding feature. The Armory, located on the left side of the main hallway to the command center, controls this system. To use attachments, players can select a main weapon and then click on “Customize,” or by pressing the left analogue stick on a controller.

Available Modification Options
Most primary weapons in Helldivers 2 are able to be modified. However, there are some exceptions. For instance, the Killzone crossover pack weapons aren’t customisable. Additionally, all secondary weapons cannot be modified for now. Players can modify the following elements.
- Optics systems.
- Underbarrel components.
- Muzzle modifications.
- Magazine enhancements.
- Weapon appearance themes.
Changes that are made will alter the important characteristics of weapons. This includes horizontal and vertical recoil pattern, weapon sway, ergonomics, magazine size, and reload time. Players generally attempt to maximize such attributes as ergonomics and capacity while minimizing reload duration and weapon sway to achieve better weapon control.
Earning Attachments Through Combat Experience
You can now level up your weapon, earning EXP points while on the battlefield. As you move up the tiers of each weapon, you will unlock new attachments and cosmetic options. But if you want these features, you have to spend Requisition points, which you earn by completing missions and using farming. This unlocking system that has two stages makes the game more challenging and rewarding just like Helldivers 2.
