After a week-long affair at the Ignite Mid Season Finals of Marvel Rivals, the champions of the world were eventually crowned. The showdown ended with a Grand Final match as ENVY was against Rad EU in a repeat that saw Rad EU sealing the title as the game’s first international champion.
100 Thieves lost in the Lower Bracket Final
After dropping to the Lower Bracket by ENVY, 100 Thieves began an uphill trek to qualify for the Grand Finals, but ultimately lost 0-3 to Rad EU finishing 3rd overall. The organisation takes home $60,000 (~£44,600) for the run.
- Rad EU won 2-1 in game one against Celestial Husk.
- Central Park : Rad EU win another tight game 2-1.
- The Yggdrasill Path 100 Thieves made it a marathon but Rad EU closed it 3-2.
The sweep allowed Rad EU to book its place in the Grand Finals against ENVY for a second time as both finalists came from the Play-In Stage.
Road to the Grand Finals
The two teams came from fairly low down, having eliminated regional champs such as Sentinels and Citadel Gaming in their path to the best-of-seven decider. TaeJa’s underdog run in the Kespa Cup shows how scary the Play-Ins teams were across the entire LAN.
