Splitgate 2 Proelium: Unlock Customization and Upgrades

Like many free-to-play shooters, Splitgate 2 has in-game currencies. One of them is Proelium, which seems purple and gets you access to premium cosmetics. While it is not clear as to what function Proelium serves, it is key in making a player’s style and more.

What Players Can Purchase with Proelium

Proelium is intended to be used on additional variants’ and upgrades for cosmetic skins of both character and weapons. Players are able to create a number of looks that aren’t available with the standard currency.  Most notably, Proelium enables the purchase of.

  • Skin variants are alternate colour schemes or visual tweaks for existing cosmetic products.
  • Upgrades are things that give skins unique effects, such as tracer rounds or special death animation.

At present, usually Mythic rarity skins get these options. There are exceptions for lower rarity items. When you are in-game, any cosmetic has available variants or upgrades they will show on the purchase or edit screen.

How to Use Proelium for Upgrades

After you get a Mythic weapon or character cosmetic, you have access to its variants and upgrades. To do this, select the item in the loadout menu, then right-click or press the corresponding button for the platform. You can see any customization third-party options being made available with Proelium.

Like for example the open beta had Deadly Harvest Jackhammer skin. After unlocking this skin, you can get three additional colours by spending Proelium. Most of these changes are in visuals but it allows for more self-expression along with drawing attention to a player’s achievement in obtaining the mythic skin.

Beyond variants, upgrades add further flair. When players have enough Proelium, skins can be upgraded so that tracer effects are added, which change how bullets look and sound, and kill effects will unlock.

Ways to Obtain Proelium

Acquiring a Proelium is easy; there are two ways.

  1. In earlier battle passes (like the Beta Pass), Proelium was among the rewards earned through progression. That means if players just played the game they got given up to 70 Proelium.
  2. 2. You can also buy Proelium by converting Splitcoin , another in-game currency, at the following rates:
  • 40 Proelium for 1,000 SPlitcoin
  • 100 Proelium equals 2000 Splitcoin
  • 240 Proelium for 4,000 Splitcoin.

For the best value, players should always get the premium battle pass first to earn Proelium before converting to the currency.

Should You Invest in Proelium?

If you want to show off your achievements or stand out in Splitgate 2, Proelium is the gateway to premium customisation. Players can unlock exclusive skin upgrades and effects that will look good on the battlefield and show dedication.  Many players are willing to spend money to unlock this currency just to customise their loadouts and weapons. Some players might benefit by waiting for the future battle pass rewards, as there are more upgrades to choose from.
