The MLBB Women’s Invitational in 2025 Could Break Esports Record

The Esports World Cup is the big competition where MLBB are played. Nearly four hundred ninety-six thousand viewers tuned into the game for the first time in Indonesia.  Team Vitality winning was great as it was a contributing factor to record viewing figures. The tournament has become the most viewed women’s esports competition if we talk about the numbers the tournament received.

Key Figures and Tournament Impact

The Women’s Invitational – which featured a 500,000 US dollar (around 371,732 pounds sterling) prize pool – had more than 34 hours of live coverage. Throughout the tournament, it averaged more than 109,000 viewers and accumulated 3.7 million hours of watch time. Gaimin Gladiators vs. Team Vitality Playoffs Finals match alone attracted almost 496,000 viewers which drew the highest viewership of the event. The Gaimin Gladiators vs Terror Queens semi-final garnered over 275k while the Team Vitality Team Liquid match hit 274k Viewers.

Teams like Team Vitality and Gaimin Gladiators received a lot of focus. Both of the organisations saw a total watch time of 1.3 million hours each. Terror Queens came next as they added 1 million hours worth of content followed by Team Liquid which added just over 931,000 hours into the total.

Language and Platform Preferences

The competition was available in a multitude of languages. The largest audience at over 285 thousand comes from the Indonesian-language broadcast. The peak viewership for the Burmese and Bahama Malaysia broadcasts was almost 88,000 and 60,000. At the same time, streams in English reached a peak of slightly more than 48,000, to become fourth.

The media platforms were quite important in the distribution of audience. YouTube had over 9.8 million views and 182,000 likes, peaking at nearly 224,000 viewers. Second place was TikTok Live which was viewed at more than 220K. Next up were Bigo Live and Twitch, which peaked at almost 28 thousand and over 4 thousand viewers, respectively.  The tournament was hosted on over 49 different Twitch channels, earning it around 303,000 views.

Comparisons to Major Women’s Esports Events

The 2023 MLBB Women’s invitational is the second highest viewing figure after the 32nd SEA Games Women’s MLBB tournament which hit a peak of 1.3 million. Ranking third is the VALORANT VCT 2024 Game Changers Championship which managed to peak at 464,000 viewers and got 6.3 million hours watched. It was way behind the MLBB event.

The numbers of the 2025 Invitational have steadily improved in comparison to the previous year, that is the record of the previous year being 2,65,000 and the average being 74,000. These impressive figures indicate that women’s esports growth in the MLBB scene is increasing and on the rise.
