The Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 may require you to go against the allies and tackle foes you assumed were working for you. Flying Waters dungeon has Demineur, a Nevron that can create problems for the players. Demineur’s interaction is historically significant and doesn’t mirror conventional Nevrons’ hostility.
How To Reach Demineur In The Flying Waters
You may find Demineur by going to Expedition 59 checkpoint (Noco’s Hut). From here, head into the valley until you see two foes guarding a building below. Don’t approach them, instead take a left round the structure, and continue along the left outer side taking the curvature on the right-hand side. This route leads to a distinctive jar-like tunnel. This tunnel will take you to Demineur on the opposite side of the tunnel.
When your group meets Demineur, choose “Examine” instead of going into battle. Although this Nevron should have a mine, it seems they have lost it. The party will help find the missing device.
Solving The Platform Challenge To Retrieve The Mine
Go right from Demineur’s position to find the Impact Mine. A straightforward platforming segment lies ahead. After clearing some jumps, look right and search for the bright pink item. This is the mine in question.
Be careful crossing the remaining platforms to collect the Impact Mine. Once retrieved, return to Demineur and hand it over. You’ll be awarded Lune’s Deminerim, a lightning weapon, as compensation for your help. This item deals electric damage, gives you reduced AP costs and improved ability effects. Overall, it is a great addition to any build to have.

Consequences Of Choosing To Fight Demineur
Demineur can be made to go to battle either before or after the mine is returned. However, if you choose violence before the item handover then you will be completely locked out of getting the Deminerim weapon. Winning this battle gives you 3 Colour of Lumina, and 1 Chroma Catalyst. Colour of Lumina and Chroma Catalyst are the same things which is dropped by Jar earlier.
While the quick benefits may look handy, the long-term consequences of attacking Demineur are much larger and must not be underrated.
Long-Term Effects In Later Acts
Later on in the story line, specifically Act Three, players become capable of flying with the help of Esquie. This gives you access to the area called The Fountain which is next to Spring Meadows. Here, a character named Blanche is encountered.
If players spared Demineur and other quest-giving Nevrons in the game before, Blanche will recognize this peaceful approach and reward players with 100x Colour of Lumina, which is great.
On the other hand, if any Nevron are crushed, Blanche retaliates. This fight is exceedingly tough and is usually recommended to do at level 80 and higher. If you win here, you only get 10x Colour of Lumina and 2x Grandiose Chroma Catalyst. This is much lower reward than negotiate.
Best Approach For Long-Term Benefit
Attacking Demineur may offer short-term benefits but not attacking his blitz will bring much longer term perks.
By doing this, players unlock a powerful weapon early on for Lune, which provides exponential rewards later on. After receiving the generous gift from Blanche, you can still return and kill Demineur for another bonus, meaning the goodies don’t disappear with diplomacy.
Choosing to spare Demineur transforms this seemingly minor encounter into a pivotal piece of larger strategy that finds its expression in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Strategic patience has an outcome that far exceeds any immediate gain.
